What is a zine?

A zine or fanzine is a small-circulation, fan-published work of original art and/or writing.

What is the theme of this zine?

This zine aims to explore recreations of classic fine art reimagined as characters, objects, and moments from the show Arcane.

Will the zine be digital or physical? For-profit or charity?

This zine aims to be physical, and will be for-charity. The chosen charity will be announced at a later date.

How many contributors will be accepted?

We are currently planning to accept around 30 page artists and 4 merch artists. This is subject to change based on the results of our Interest Check.

How old do contributors need to be?

All contributors must be 18 or up at time of acceptance to the zine.

How will contributors be compensated?

All contributors are guaranteed a free digital PDF of the zine and any physical items at production price. If sales allow, all contributors will be provided a full bundle with free shipping.

Is traditional art allowed?

Yes. In addition to digital art, both traditional art and sculpture are welcome. Please make sure to provide a clean, high-quality scan or photograph of your work. Scanning in 600dpi or higher is advised.

What requirements should contributors keep in mind when pitching works for this zine?

All zine pieces must be a reimagining of an existing work of fine art. The original work can be any traditional / non-digital medium (painting, sculpture, print, photography, graffiti, etc.) and can be from any historical fine art movement or era. Selected works must have a public title, artist, and date associated with it to qualify.

Will there be NSFW in this zine?

Per the standards of classical fine art, this zine may include semi-nudity, such as partially exposed genitalia and/or fully exposed breasts. This zine may also include some depictions of violence and/or gore canon-typical to Arcane.

Are ships allowed?

Ships may be depicted per the content of the fine art piece each artist choses as their inspiration. However, the focus of this project is on the recreation of famous works and not on romance.

Will this zine contain spoilers?

This zine may contain spoilers for Arcane seasons 1 and 2, as well as lore spoilers for League of Legends.

Will you be including writers?

Unfortunately, we will not be including writers at this time due to the zine's focus on fine art.
